Hack to the Future

ART DIRECTION / GRAPHIC DESIGN / CULTURE

- “Great Scott, Where We’re Going We’re Going to Need Some Code!”

A couple of summers ago i had the opportunity to design and conceptualise our second hackathon event “Hack to the Future”. This combined our love of badly constructed puns and 80’s culture. Hack to the future focused around building projects for Freelancer. “Hacking the future”. The title’s eureka moment came to me through a combination of using an internet rhyme generator and randomly stumbling across a Delorean Appreciation Society.

SUCCESS METRIC

Build and promote company culture both internally and externally (new recruits).

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Materials to promote our internal hackathon which included posters, video, assorted propaganda and of course teeshirts.

FUN FACT

Given this was our second time organising the hackathon you’d think we had learnt from our mistakes… it was not the case. Hack to the future was conceived, designed and organised at the eleventh hour. Shoutouts to my friends at tenbucktees.com.au who have always printed shirts at the last minute. The tees for this event came delivered fresh and hot from the ovens!

FUN FACT

Duncan our Head of Talent helped turn our entertainment space into a bonafide 1950’s diner setting - clocktower and all. So on game day, our usual town hall area transformed into the actual town hall clock from BTTF2!
