Hacking Freelancer’s Culture

- "Stop Bitching, Start Fixing."

In 2014 i had come across an article about Ben Barry, Facebook’s Minister of Propaganda. It described how he and his merry band of designers/creators established a little studio within Facebook called the Facebook Analog Lab with the sole purpose of infusing culture within the Facebook Ethos. I loved the way it showed how design and imagery could both play a crucial role in defining company culture. I became immediately enamoured. What started out as a ruse to get teeshirts printed ended up being a full-blown propaganda machine aimed at helping us “Change Lives” everyday. Here is a selection of my favourite pieces from my time as Freelancer’s propaganda officer.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Anything and everything to do with influencing Freelancer’s culture. This was an open project and work spanned many mediums including websites, print posters, shirts, screensavers, stickers, memos.

SUCCESS METRIC

Brainwash employees. Just kidding. Drive employee satisfaction. Unite us all under a common banner.

FUN FACT

Pretty much everything you see here has been turned into a teeshirt at some point. There have been so many teeshirts that have been printed that most employees rarely need to invest in new clothes anymore.
